Resets

• Hard Reset: Action (center) + Menui (top)
• Diagnostics: Previous (left) + Action (center)
• Disk Mode: Hard Reset (above), then Action (center) + Play (bottom)
  Disk Mode might work if iPod won’t sync normally: if the iPod icon comes up, run iPod Updater and restore to factory settings.

Connect to iTunes in Manual Mode

Hold the Shift and Ctrl keys while connecting iPod. Even if iPod is set for automatic synchronization, it will be connected in manual mode this time.

Apply Sort Keys to Many Tracks

iTunes 7.1 added sort keys that can be different from the tags. You can set them up on one track, then right-click that track and choose Apply Sort Field to tracks that match any or all of Album, Artist, Album Artist, or Show.

Create Customized Menus and Presentations

Set up a couple of files using the Notes feature and put iPod in museum mode. Apple’s iPod Notes Feature Guide explains how. (A local copy is in the OwnerManuals folder.)
